How we compared
We compared what a learner gets in a month in one subject, from each provider’s own published page, read on 13 October 2026.
note 1 The prices
Where a provider publishes a session price and no cadence, we assumed one session a week: 52 sessions over 12 months. Where a provider states its own cadence, we used it, and we name compulsory fees. Learnmate quotes its tutors’ rates plus GST. Kumon and Cluey Learning say their prices include GST; Cuemath, Kip McGrath and Matrix Education do not say.
- Cuemath: A$17 a class; online mathematics, Kindergarten to Year 5, 12-month prepaid plan, two classes a week (platform fee waived on this plan). About A$147 a month.
- Kumon: A$160 a month per subject; worksheet centres. About A$160 a month, plus a A$100 enrolment fee, once.
- Learnmate: A$61 an hour, its 2025 average tutor rate; one session a week. About A$264 a month, or about A$291 with GST added.
- Kip McGrath: A$78 a session, recommended retail price, may vary by location; one session a week. About A$338 a month.
- Cluey Learning (Value Max): A$86 a one-hour session; one session a week. About A$373 a month.
- Cluey Learning (Standard): A$99 a one-hour session; one session a week. About A$429 a month.
- Matrix Education: A$498 a month over a term; Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1, nine 3-hour group lessons a term. About A$498 a month.

What counts as one subject?
One subject on our list, across every year it covers. Mathematics runs from Kindergarten to Year 10 and on through every senior Mathematics course. Each subject you can pick shows its number of lessons.
Can we change subjects?
Yes, once a month from your account. The new subject opens straight away, and your notes and progress in the old subject stay in your account.
Monthly or yearly?
Monthly renews each month and yearly renews each year, so pick the one that suits you. The Problem Solver is always monthly: add it for exam season and stop it after. The Problem Solver is AI-powered. Its solutions are AI-generated.
More than one learner?
Each learner has their own plan and record. Each learner after the first on your account pays A$4, A$6 or A$9 a month, or A$40, A$60 or A$90 a year.
What is the Problem Solver?
The Problem Solver is AI-powered. Its solutions are AI-generated. It works out a learner’s problem step by step. It costs A$10 a month for 10 solutions, and every learner on a plan has 5 to try.
