Every step, written out with its reason.

Every concept, clearly taught.

Five parts in every lesson. Four levels per concept, a lesson at each. Every worked line explained.

Teaches each lesson the Learning Map defines, with clear explanations, reasoning, worked examples and practice.

EdDots Notebook

The core teaching environment

A Notebook lesson on Newton’s first law at the Worked examples part: step 3, “Resolve each tension”, written out in green ink with its reason in the margin and a sketch of the resolved forces.

Inside a Notebook lesson.

From the whole page to one line of working, then your turn.

  1. The whole page.

Get ready, Lesson overview, Worked examples, Recap and handout, Practise: the five parts sit in the rail, the lesson on the sheet.

  2. One line and its reason.

The working goes down the page and the reason sits beside it, with a sketch drawn as the step is written.

  3. Your turn, with hints.

Graded questions from core to challenge, with three hints on each: what it is asking, the first step, then all but the last.

In every lesson.

  • Worked examples, step by step

Two complete models, played step by step or shown whole.

  • Four levels per concept

Starting, Developing, Strong and Exceeding: a lesson at each.

  • A full practice series

Core, stretch and challenge questions, with your working beside each one.

  • Recap and handout

Key ideas, method, formulae and the usual errors, on a single sheet.

  • Your notebook, your style

Sketchnote, graph pad, chalkboard or whiteboard. The lesson stays the same.

  • Print or save as PDF

The whole lesson, the handout or just the questions, with or without answers.

Questions about the Notebook.

Which subjects have Notebook lessons?

Notebook lessons cover English and Mathematics (K–12), Biology and Physics (Year 11) and Chemistry (Year 12). The Learning Map shows every concept for your year and the lessons it opens.

Can a learner change level?

Yes. Each concept has a lesson at every level. Start at the one that fits and move up or down whenever you choose.

What does a printed lesson include?

Choose the whole lesson, the handout or the questions, with answers or full worked solutions. Each sheet carries a name and date line, numbered questions, room to write and page numbers.

Can I see a lesson before I choose a plan?

Yes. The sample lessons open now, with no account. A plan opens every lesson in the subjects it covers.
