What you’ll pay

You pay the tutor’s rate.

Every tutor prices their own lessons: one-to-one from $30/hr, group places from $15/hr per student. The rate sits on the profile before you book. Checkout adds nothing to it.

Worked examples

What a lesson costs

The tutor’s rate times the length of the lesson. Here it is worked through, savings and all.

Example lesson prices: the tutor’s hourly rate multiplied by the lesson length is the total you pay. Saving rows show the full price struck through beside the discounted total.

Rates are illustrative; the exact rate is always on the tutor’s profile before you book. Saving rows use the same maths the booking flow runs, and the single best saving applies — discounts don’t stack.

New tutors sometimes offer an intro price to their first families. We fund it, so it never costs the tutor anything (how that works). You’ll see any saving and the final price at booking, before you pay.

If plans change

Your money, until the lesson happens

Your payment is held securely when you book and is only released to your tutor after the lesson is confirmed — by you both, or automatically once your confirmation window closes.

If you need to cancel

  • Cancel 24+ hours before the lesson: you are refunded in full.
  • Cancel within 24 hours: a 50% cancellation fee applies, and the rest is refunded.
  • If your tutor cancels: you are refunded in full.

Refunds go back to your original payment method. This sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — it never limits them.

How your payment is held

When you book, the money sits safely in the middle. It reaches your tutor only after the lesson, once you both confirm it went ahead.

After the lesson you have 3 days to confirm it or tell us something wasn't right. If your tutor has confirmed the lesson and you don't respond in that window, and no dispute is open, the lesson confirms automatically.

If something goes wrong with a lesson, you or your tutor can raise a dispute, which pauses payment until we have reviewed it.

What you’ll actually pay

The number on a tutor’s profile is the number on your card. No booking fee, no subscription. If it isn’t working, stop after one lesson.

  • Every rate is set by the tutor, shown before you book
  • We add nothing at checkout — your card is charged the profile rate
  • No tutor can pay us for a better spot in search results
  • A parent or guardian sits in on every lesson with an under-18
