If you’re booking a tutor
You pay the tutor’s rate. That’s it.
Rates start at a platform minimum of $30/hr for one-to-one lessons and $15/hr per student for group places, and vary by subject, level and whether the lesson is online or face-to-face. Whatever the rate on the profile is, that’s what you pay.
One-to-one lessons
From $30/hr
The tutor’s own rate, shown on their profile. Pay per lesson through Stripe — no joining fee and no lock-in.
Group places
From $15/hr per student
Group learning from $15/hr per student — a small group of five at $20 each brings quality tutoring to a fraction of the 1:1 price. You pay only your student’s place, at the per-student rate on the profile.
Scholarship places
Free
Eligible students learn at no cost — the same verified tutors and the same lessons, funded by the donation pool rather than by you.
Premium resource packs are an optional extra you can buy for extra practice; scholarship students get access to them through the donation pool. Every lesson with an under-18 — online or face-to-face — requires a parent or guardian to be present.

What a lesson costs
The maths is simple: the tutor’s hourly rate times the length of the lesson. That total is what you pay.

Cancellations and refunds
Book with confidence
Your payment is held securely when you book and is only released to your tutor after the lesson, once both you and your tutor confirm it went ahead.
If you need to cancel
- Cancel 24+ hours before the lesson: you are refunded in full.
- Cancel within 24 hours: a 50% cancellation fee applies, and the rest is refunded.
- If your tutor cancels: you are refunded in full.
Refunds go back to your original payment method. This sits alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — it never limits them.
How your payment is held
When you book, your payment is held securely and is only released to your tutor after the lesson — once you and your tutor both confirm it went ahead.
If a lesson goes ahead and one side does not confirm within 3 days, and no dispute has been raised, payment releases automatically so your tutor is paid.
If something goes wrong with a lesson, you or your tutor can raise a dispute, which pauses payment until we have reviewed it.
