Your share steps up with the hours you deliver in a calendar month, and the whole month settles at the best band you reach. Your advertised rate is always the family's full price.

Bands are set on the whole month, always at the best one you reach. The $60/hr figure is an illustrative tutor-set rate; the platform’s share is simply the remainder (20% to 12% by band) — full detail in the FAQ.
Founding tutors lock in 85%
Our first cohort keeps a locked 85% of every lesson for 12 months, whatever the month looks like. Free access to every premium resource pack is part of the deal while founding status lasts.
Group teaching multiplies the hour
A small group of 5 at $20 per student is $100/hr gross
Group rates are per student, so every filled place adds to the same teaching hour. Price a small group (2–5 students) or a large group (6–15) from $15/hr per student on your rate card. Each family pays their student’s place and nothing more:

The platform fee for your tier then comes out of the gross, as on any booking. Group sizes depend on demand; the gross assumes every place fills.

Getting paid
Where the money sits, and when it moves
The family pays when they book; the money reaches your bank in three moves.
Held at booking
The family pays up front and the money is held securely. Not yours yet, but committed.
Confirmed after the lesson
You and the family each tick “session completed” on the platform.
Released to you
Your net transfers to your Stripe account. If one side doesn’t confirm within 3 days and no dispute is open, it releases automatically. You’re not left chasing a tick.
Your dashboard shows what’s held and what’s been paid, with the fee breakdown on every booking.
A family’s saving never comes out of your rate
Families have a few ways to pay less. Each one is funded on our side of the ledger, never out of the rate on your card.
New-tutor intro promo
We fund it, you keep more
When you’re new, you can offer an intro price to your first families. It costs you nothing: you keep 5 percentage points more of those bookings, so your advertised rate and the family’s price both stay put. The same $60/hr lesson, both ways:

Household discount
When a family books for 2+ students, they get 10% off the price. You’re still paid your full rate for every student you teach; the saving comes out of our share.
Session bundles
A family can buy a 5- or 10-session bundle up front. The whole bundle is held at booking and each session releases to you as it’s completed, at your full rate. The same flow as a single lesson, one session at a time.
What our share builds for you
The platform's slice is its only income from your teaching, and all of it works for you. Here's what it buys.
- Hosting & infrastructure
- The servers, storage and video plumbing every profile, booking and lesson runs on, kept up and backed up.
- Vetting & safety
- Identity, WWCC and qualification checks, plus secure storage and expiry tracking of those documents.
- Teaching materials & the resource library
- A base library of ready-to-run materials, free to every tutor, so a session doesn’t have to be built from scratch.
- The learning platform
- Your searchable profile, booking calendar, messaging and dashboards, plus the ongoing build of the learning tools your students use.
- Payment processing
- Payments and payouts run through Stripe. The platform never holds your money; Stripe pays you directly.
- Marketing that fills calendars
- The advertising and outreach that put your profile in front of families already looking for a tutor.
- Human support
- Email answered by a person, disputes handled, community rules upheld.
- The scholarship pool
- The platform’s share joins tutors’ donated hours to fund free places for students who need them.

Our mission runs on a simple exchange: families who can pay, pay. Tutors who can give an hour, give one. Nobody is turned away. Pledge one teaching hour a week — or a fortnight, or a month — to a student whose family can't pay, and the platform gives with you.

Entirely voluntary, always: every tutor gets the full platform, the full library and every tool, pledge or not. We confirm each pledge before it’s counted, and you can change or withdraw yours any time.

You’re running a business
Tutors on the platform are independent contractors. You own the client relationship, and your share of every booking arrives whole.
Paid in full, taxed by you
No tax is withheld from your payouts. Income tax and GST are yours to manage, like any business.
Your ABN keeps it that way
A valid ABN is required to teach on the platform. Without a quoted ABN, Australian businesses must withhold 47% of payments. Don’t have one yet? Apply free at abr.gov.au, or check an existing one on ABN Lookup.
One rule we never bend
Every lesson with a student under 18 — online and face-to-face — must have a parent or guardian present. A verified Working with Children Check is required before you can take any booking with a minor.

The application takes about 3 minutes. Payouts run through Stripe’s own secure onboarding, and your first booking can follow the same week your checks clear. Once you’re verified, your bookings and earnings live on your own dashboard on the learning platform.
