A tutoring platform with a scholarship program

Great tutoring, and a way to fund it for families who can’t.

TutorForAll matches learners across Australia with vetted independent tutors, from kindy reading to HSC physics to adult learning, in every subject, sport and skill. Families who can pay, pay. Donated teaching hours and the platform’s own share cover scholarship places for everyone else.

Chapter one

Why we exist

Because the family budget shouldn't decide who gets help with Year 9 maths.

We run a place where good tutoring is easy to find and fairly priced, whether you’re in Newtown or three hours past Dubbo. Tutors set their own rates and keep the larger share. Families see the full price before they book, and nothing gets added at checkout.

We also run it so that money isn’t the gatekeeper. The scholarship program opens free places — tutors donate the teaching hours, the platform donates the materials — and a student whose family can’t stretch to a tutor’s rate gets the same tutor a paying family does.

None of this needs a revolution. It needs tutors you can trust and a way to move donated teaching time to the kids who need it. That’s it.

Two tracks, one platform

The lessons are identical on both sides. The difference is where the money comes from.

Private track

Families pay the tutor’s own advertised rate, and no booking fee gets added on top. One-to-one starts at A$30 an hour; a place in a group session from A$15 an hour per student. Rates are set by the tutor, not by us.

Scholarship track

Eligible students pay nothing. Tutors donate the teaching hours, the platform adds free access to every learning resource, and the family’s bank account never comes into it. Every donated hour exists to open more of these places.

How the platform works

  1. Search. Browse tutors by subject and year level, online or in person. Every profile shows the tutor’s verified qualifications and their real rate.
  2. Book. Book through the learning platform. For any session with a child, you confirm a guardian will be present.
  3. Pay. Pay the tutor’s rate securely through Stripe. On a scholarship place there’s nothing to pay. Either way, you see the figure before you confirm.
  4. Learn. Meet your tutor and get going. Parents follow lessons and progress through their own login.

The things we won't budge on

Fair for tutors
Tutors set their own rates and keep the larger share. Our fee falls the more they teach, and founding tutors get a locked rate plus free premium resources. Good tutors deserve to be paid well.
Safety before convenience
No tutor is listed before verification: identity, Working with Children Check, qualifications and an interview. Every session with a child, online or face-to-face, has a guardian present.
The whole learner
Maths matters, and so does the cello. We match tutors across academics, languages, sport and the arts, from early years through to university and adult learners.
Clear pricing
Every tutor sets an hourly rate, and it's on their profile before you book. The figures on this site come from verified records, nowhere else.

Who's behind it

TutorForAll is operated by NSW Education Institute, a business based in New South Wales. The private track pays our way, and the scholarship program — donated teaching hours plus the platform’s own share — is how we widen access.
