Changing the ones digit when only tens were added
43 + 20 answered as 65 or 45.
Fix. Say which column the added number lives in before adding. Twenty is two rods and no cubes, so the cubes cannot change. Compare the block model with the written calculation and revisit the distinction during later practice.
